Woburn Abbey Garden Show 2018

On the 23rd and 24th of June was the wonderful Woburn Abbey Garden Show. A show that is familiar with us, having been to several of its previous editions, we always had a great time, plus it was on our 'neck of the woods' so we were just all too happy to go again.

To quote their press release:

Woburn Abbey is delighted to announce that BBC Gardeners’ World TV presenter Adam Frost and BBC Radio 4 Gardeners’ Question Time panellist Pippa Greenwood are headlining this year’s remastered Woburn Abbey Garden Show on 23rd and 24th June.

Now in its 9th year, the ‘Gardeners’ Garden Show’ attracts around 5,000 visitors and has become an important diary date for gardening enthusiasts.

Set just over an hour from London in 42-acres of the Abbey’s beautifully landscaped gardens, the show offers unparalleled access to award-winning exhibitors and nurseries that have been handpicked by Woburn. The displays are complemented by an array of live entertainment, artisan foods, shopping, demonstrations, informative talks and gardening advice, tips and tours.

We have seen this show grow from strength to strength each year, with this year seeming to have a record turn out. But with the show in generous grounds there was plenty of space for everyone.

It's a delightful garden show and plant fair, in a stunning setting that once you have perused the show attractions, you also have the grounds to explore. And with the beautiful weather that weekend, was also a great place to just sit down, relax and soak in on the atmosphere.

As we left the show with our plant purchases in tow were both thinking that we can't wait to go again next year!

  1. You're so lucky to have so many great garden shows/sales. I think the Pacific Northwest comes closest to offering that kind of venue to gardeners. I can definitively say that Southern California does NOT!

    1. Saying that we’d love to attend one of your shows! We did sort of attend one, albeit an HPS sale when we went to Portland last year.

  2. I read most favourable comments about this show on another blog. It certainly sounds and looks like a great day out. The sheer space must be a huge plus. Now do spill the beans - what plants came home with you guys?

  4. I love the fact that British garden shows all take place outside during the actual growing season, in gorgeous settings like this. What fabulous fun! Thanks for sharing your pictures and your excitement!

    1. Slight disadvantage is that so many garden shows happening roughly around the same time that they almost compete with each other. Spoilt for choice is not a bad dilemma :)
