I had a quick walk around the garden yesterday and I heard the sound of sparks somewhere....
But where? I couldn't see any nor could smell anything that would indicate combustion caused by sparks....
Like nothing happened eh? |
I was just being playful with myself (or perhaps I am now losing my mind?). The sparks I heard were figurative sparks. Now that the house renovation is calming right down as compared to how it was last summer my interest in the garden and plants are returning.
The spark is returning and hopefully it will become full on flames again (pun intended).

You know you guys have had so much work done this year and then have the added fire thrown in there which caused even more work aside from your planned work that you are just into overload. Might be a good idea that Winter is here so that you get enthused about Spring time. It will be back in you in no time.
ReplyDeleteCher Sunray Gardens
So true Cher, the fire was a nuisance which added stress to the already stressful house work. But all's well that ends well and not long now before all work will be finished, can't wait! We have all winter to daydream about gardening now :)
DeleteAh I see it was a play on words, you did however kindle my interest and was genuinely worried. No matter your garden does enflame my passion and is the spark I needed to fire my imagination. Ok, better get on, not like I've got time to burn.
ReplyDeleteThanks Allan! Lovely play on words too :) as things start to settle here we find ourselves thinking more of the garden again which is a good thing, and something to look forward to.
DeleteIt's nice to know that your burning desire to garden was not totally extinguished. Your constant hard work is an inspiration to me but I do look forward to your post telling us that everything in the house is done and the garden is just the way you want it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter! The fire never went, although it did go down to an ember at one point when it got too much here and just focused on the house. Planning over winter should keep us entertained too.
DeleteHaha...good to see you're getting settle back down...and yes, just in time to get cozy inside for winter and hatch plans for next spring :-)
ReplyDeleteSo true Scott! One of the nice things about winter is being cozy inside which we enjoy too.
DeleteUse the spark to plan, dream and maybe raise some seedlings in your wonderful greenhouse. Then you can start spring with a bang!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Kris! Excited already :)
DeleteMark, amazing how lush and green your garden still is! I wouldn't have expected that at this time of the year in England. Hope you finish the home renovation soon, so that you can turn with full energy to the garden again and make it sparkling ;-)!
ReplyDeleteChristina
Thanks Christina! I'm pleased everything is still looking lush even this late in the year. Long the mild weather continue!
DeleteYour passion sparks the rest of us too! Just wait till next summer when you have all those new dreams up and running!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cathy, can't wait!
DeleteGarden's looking pretty wonderful there, if that can't re-ignite the gardening spark, you're doomed! Great to see such progress on the jungle hut, it's going to be worthy replacement by the time you guys get your hands on it and add all those special touches.
ReplyDeleteThe flame is getting bigger Janet, thankfully no signs of being doomed :) jungle hut will be a place for protecting plants first then redocorating next spring, can't wait!
DeleteMy first reaction: Oh no! The sound of sparks has got to totally freak you out! I should have known that you were simply playing with words for our entertainment. That greenhouse is Da Bomb!
ReplyDeleteNice sort of spark this time Ricki, thankfully :)
DeleteThose beautiful red berries are the best kind of spark! I love the look of your greenhouse. When the jungle hut is completed and your interior work is done, I know you won't be able to stay out of the garden. Except that by then it may be winter, but I doubt that will keep you out of the garden much. And by next year your garden will be better than ever!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debs, I truly hope so and will try our best :)
DeleteGlad to hear that like a phoenix rising from the ashes that your green fingers are itching to go again. Have fun planning what you are going to do come spring.
ReplyDeleteFeels great to start feeling more 'normal' and usual again Anna!
DeleteGlad you're feeling the spark again. I think you just needed a mental break from the garden after the fire. The flames of passion are not easily put out!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Holley! The one that took the most toll is actually the house renovation. It's not easy at all if its your own abode that is rumbled. Now that that's settling the gardening flame is becoming intense again :)
