| Phyllostachys aureosulcata 'Argus' |
This gardening blog follows our journey as we create our Tropical and Exotic themed garden. We hope you'll enjoy the journey as much as we do. We started our Exotic Garden in 2005 and this site will show its development, as well as our travels, both abroad and within the UK to gardens, nurseries and friends.
Lovely stripes on that bamboo tree.
ReplyDeleteI love the subtle green striping very stylish!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! It's strange to see variegation right on the stems and trunk of a plant.
ReplyDeleteAh,Phyllostachys aureosulcata 'Argus, a bamboo which also thrives in our garden as does the black stemmed Nigra.
ReplyDeleteWordlessly wonderfu.
ReplyDeleteI love this bamboo, it reminds me of panda. Even if i love it, i cant plant it in our property because of its shade and litter.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous bamboo! Invasive bamboo has taken over a section of our property behind the house. It's a lovely screen but we have to work to contain it. I wonder if your beauty will develop such a habit, or is it more mannerly. Or do you have it in a large container?
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely bamboo indeed, one of my favourites :)
ReplyDeleteHi Debs, potentially this one can because of the type of rhizomes its got. It is planted out and so far it is well behaved. Some bamboos are more aggressive than others, it could be the one you've got is one of them.
