  1. Wow, I love the leaf that's almost all white. My Fatsia japonica 'Variegata' looks like Swiss cheese, possibly from earwigs.

  2. Alright! Which one of you spilled the paint?

  3. I remember an earlier post where this was included I believe. Still love this plant.

  4. Gerhard, sounds interesting if it has a swiss cheese look, might look more like a Monstera deliciosa :) The next flush in the spring hopefully will be unnibbled.

Hazel, Janet, no paint was spilled but this one caught our eye last Saturday, we just had to have it!

Cher, we have several variegated Fatsias already, the variegation of this one is more pronounced hence we got it! I hope it carries on like it is now :)

  6. The ones I have seen in the nurseries aren't nearly so vivid as this. I'm jealous

  7. I'm glad you like them Nat and Karen :) Next time you're in nurseries keep an eye out on groups of variegated Fatsias, one or two may have better markings than the others.

  8. The Fatsia Japonica Variegata is an absolute 'must' in the garden.
I keep mine in big pots because of little mice who have them high on their menu-list. Minus 10 Celsius- -14 Celsius outside (sheltered in pot) is no problem up till now, with another week of serious frost to go. That proves how hardy this variegated beauty is, with only minor damage on the small leaves in the center.
    Just great !

  9. Hi Jean-Marie, Great to hear how hardy they are. Our plants have been subjected to minus 10Celsius, some in pots but most in the ground. I did not know that Mice enjoyed them so much! Hopefully our cats keep the mice from eating them! Do let us know how they do after the weather warms up.
